Hello, my name is Adriana Mercuri and I am 22 years old.I have lived in Toronto my whole life with my loving family; my mom, dad, and 25 year old brother. My background is Italian and I am very proud to share that I speak Italian as a second language.In fact, I have been speaking Italian since I was 3 years old. I have been to Italy six times so far growing up and I love it there; I would never move there, but I do enjoy the beach and visiting my family. I have a Chihuahua named Nika and I love her very much. She's my best friend and I can't imagine life without her. I have a passion for cooking, baking, art, and most importantly working with children.
Working with children has always been my dream and over the years I got the opportunity to work with children of several different age groups in several different contexts. Children are very curious in nature, loving, and easy-going. They are a blast to work with, as they always know how to put a smile on your face.
Currently, I am in the process of getting my Bachelors of Early Childhood Education at the University of Guelph-Humber. I will be graduating in June 2017 andI will be attending Teachers College upon graduation. As a child, I would always play teacher and pretend I had my own classroom and I am finally bringing this dream to life.I cannot wait to have a class of my own so I can decorate it as i wish, students to teach with my creative learning experiences and materials, and the opportunity to change lives. Teaching is more than just books and writing, teaching is about mentoring children to become active, loving, and knowledgable members of the world.
