Halloween Counting

This activity was a great experience for the children. During Centre time last week, I noticed that the children were very interested in beading. For this, I wanted to build on the children's interests by creating this activity. The children enjoyed looking at the pictures on the cards and were very committed in beading the pipe cleaners on each card accordingly.

This activity requires the children to identify the number on each card and bead the pipe cleaner attached to the card according to the number written on it. Two children will be asked to bead the cards, place the cards in order, count them, and discuss the pictures on the cards. In addition, to extend this activity the children are encouraged to create patterns with the beads. This activity is very beneficial to child cognitive development, as they learn about patterns, colours, and sequence.
