Today, to introduce the theme for my block week, I read the story 'The Mitten' by Jan Brett.  The children enjoyed listening to the story and helped me to fill int he empty spaces on my story board. 

The children were very eager to have a turn and all wanted to have a turn. For this, I made sure to be fair when choosing people who rose their hand up.
