It's Popcorn Time!

Conducting this activity was a lot of fun. This week the children are learning about their five senses; seeing, feeling, smelling, touching, tasting. To give them the opportunity to fully explore each of their senses, I decided to have the children make popcorn.

Not only did they have the opportunity to actually experience them, but I encouraged the children to reflect on each of their senses by sharing a word that describes the popcorn.

Once the children shared their thoughts i put it on a piece of popcorn and had them lace it in our large popcorn board.

Apart from this, by conducting this activity, I found it to be a fun and interesting way to end my placement for the fall semester. I got to sit with all the children on the carpet for the last time, until the winter semester.

The children really enjoyed this activity and were very attentive and excited to watch the popcorn pop. They also enjoyed sharing their thoughts and ideas to place on our large popcorn board.
