The children really enjoyed this activity. They were very engaged in the learning process. The children were given a laminated turkey mat with numbers on each feather. In addition, there are duplicates of each feather but the second set of feathers have dots on them that correspond to the numbers on the turkey mat. There is velcro on each feather and the children are to match the dotted feathers to the numbered feathers on the mat by counting the dots.

How Many Feathers Do I Have?

This is how the activity was set up at the Centre. The place mats were on the table and the duplicate feathers surrounded the place mat. This made it easier for the children to organize and identify the numbers and dots.
