Apple Toss

This Apple Toss activity was made to encourage children to enhance their physical skills. Children are given the opportunity to use their fine motor skills to grab the bean bags and their gross motor skills by using the strength in their arms to toss the bag. In addition, children are challenged to aim the bean bags; this helps them to develop their eye-hand coordination skills.

Since it is Fall, the children are excited to learn more about elements that compliment the season. Apples are a big part of Fall and so I decided to discuss the life cycle of an apple and the parts of an apple with the children. The children were very engaged in the discussion and loved to throw the bean bags in the holes. They enjoyed the challenge and repeatedly approached my centre.
