The Very Hungry Caterpillar
This week the children are learning about the life cycle of a butterfly. For this, I read aloud The Very Hungry Caterpillar during story time. The children were all familiar with the story, but they never had the opportunity to actually help with he storytelling process.
As I read the story, the children were asked to come up and place the food he ate on each day into the pouch with the right day of the week. The children were excited to do so. At the end of the story, the children were asked what the life cycle of the butterfly was; I showed each cycle as the answered under the flaps of leaves under my leaves.
